Anticipated Outcomes

Students enrolled in Baylor's MSMS program can expect to gain a comprehensive medical-based education that prepares them for a variety of career paths. Graduates of this program are well-equipped for professional schools, such as medical, dental, and veterinary programs, as well as advanced graduate education in research. The program emphasizes the development of critical skills essential to gaining acceptance into prestigious institutions across the nation.

Admissions Information

This 100% online program offers a rigorous, multidisciplinary curriculum within a supportive Christian community. To be eligible, students will need a bachelor's degree and specific prerequisite coursework in sciences, chemistry, and statistics. While standardized test scores are optional, a strong GPA is preferred. Once admitted, incoming students can expect a smooth transition with comprehensive resources, including assistance with setting up their Baylor accounts, accessing financial aid, and connecting with the Graduate Student Association.

Completion Time

The MSMS program is designed as a gap year program so students can complete the program in one calendar year, spread over three terms. Students will take courses in the Spring, Summer, and Fall, with 11, 10, and 12 credit hours, respectively. Since MSMS courses are only offered once per year, if individuals are working full-time and wish to take a less intensive course load, the Baylor team can assist in planning accordingly to ensure students get the most out of the program.

Christian Mission

Baylor’s Master of Science in Medical Sciences (MSMS) program stands out due to its distinctive integration of medical science education within the context of Baylor’s broader Christian mission. By combining rigorous academic training with a commitment to Christian values, Baylor’s MSMS program offers a holistic educational experience that prepares students to excel professionally while fostering a sense of purpose and ethical responsibility in their future medical careers.

Student Resources

Online students will benefit from a supportive, highly engaged faculty and staff that will support them throughout the program. In addition to the traditional resources made available to all students, including career support, academic success coaches, and pastoral care, MSMS students are provided access to leading resources to help them succeed in their studies and prepare them for their next chapter. MSMS students are granted access to Kaplan courses for the MCAT, GRE, and DAT tests to ensure that no matter where students want to go next, they’re well prepared. In addition to these great Kaplan prep courses, students will also have access to Sketchy Medical, reducing outside expenses to study the course material.
