Course Development & Online Teaching Support
Developing an effective online course involves careful planning and intentional decision-making. People new to online learning are often surprised to find that developing an online course is not as easy as simply “putting a course online.” However, Graduate Professional Education has many resources to assist you in course development, course design, the course iteration process, and online teaching support!
Curriculum Planning & Online Delivery
Whether offering courses asynchronously, synchronously, or in a hybrid format, planning is the best first step! In this phase, our team works with your faculty to talk through chunking course material into modules, understanding your student population and their learning styles, as well as maximizing student engagement to create a successful learning community. In this phase, you will decide on video elements to be filmed, student expectations and knowledge checks, course delivery through Canvas as well as training for online teaching.
Course Design & Refresh
Graduate Professional Education (GPE) courses are developed in partnership with the Baylor University Learning Design team. This partnership is essential for the development of a modality-appropriate learning experience for Baylor GPE students. The Learning Design team uses a systematic design process that relies on timely engagement with course developers. Before beginning that process, an MOU must be signed and submitted.
- Click here to access the MOU documents prior to course design.
- Download the MOU that is right for you (compensation or course release)
- Complete the form filled areas that need attention
