Are Baylor's professional graduate degrees accredited?

Yes, Baylor University's professional degrees are accredited by recognized accrediting bodies. The university itself holds institutional accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), enabling it to award baccalaureate, master's, educational specialist, and doctoral degrees .​ 

In addition to institutional accreditation, many of Baylor's professional programs have received specialized accreditation from discipline-specific accrediting organizations. For example, the Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) ​, and the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program holds accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).

You should apply whenever you feel ready to begin your Online Program, deadlines vary between each program. For more information regarding deadlines, check out your program's website. I've received my letter of acceptance, how do I enroll in classes?

Congratulations! Welcome to the Baylor Family.

You are an important part of the Baylor community. We are honored to support you throughout your education and career journey. 

You should have received an email with important information and details on the steps to complete your enrollment, to include; confirm your acceptance, visit your Student Center in BearWeb, complete your grad school and program orientation, review financial aid options, meet with your Baylor Program Director, Staff or advisor. 

Depending on your program, you will have a student success coach who will be reaching out to you by email, phone or text, whatever is your preferred method of communication.

We can't wait to welcome you to your first day of class! 

Common Online Degree Questions

Will I have an advisor?

As a member of the Baylor Family, your academic program will provide advising assistance. Contact your academic program staff for advising assistance.

How do I purchase books or materials?

The official Baylor Bookstore is Follett. They accept online orders and will ship products to your indicated address. However plan for extra time to receive materials.

I am a veteran who served in the military, what kind of assistance can I get for my online education?

Veterans Educational and Transition Services ensures the academic success of Baylor's military and veteran students.

Earning My Degree Online

Will my degree be considered an "online" degree?

When you earn your Baylor degree online, you receive the same Baylor diploma as on-campus students. There will not be a online distinction on your diploma.

How long will it take me to finish my programs?

Each Baylor Online Program is unique and have their own timelines for completion. This also varies based on how many credits you choose to take each semester.

Will I be able to attend graduation?

As long as you're approved by your college, all students enrolled in an online program at Baylor are welcome to attend their graduation ceremony on campus in Waco.

In order to be eligible, you must file for graduation. This application and approval process takes place through your college and the Graduate School.

You will receive your Baylor degree by mail, or at the ceremony if you decide to attend.

After graduation you will become an alumnus of The Baylor University and are strongly encouraged to join the Baylor Alumni Network. For additional information to at https://www.baylor.edu/alumni/

Is my entire program offered online?

Baylor's degree program will have varying requirements. Your program may require campus immersion visits, weekly online class meetings or intensive face to face sessions. For more information, contact your program advisor.

Do I have specific class times or a specific time that I need to be online?

Each program will administer their unique schedules.

How do I interact with my Classmates and Instructors?

Upon enrollment of your course, you will receive log in information to your program's course. If you have questions, please direct them to the staff of the program in which you are enrolled.

What happens if I need to withdraw from a professional program?

If you need to withdraw from a program, Baylor provides clear withdrawal procedures outlined on the Professional Program Student Withdrawal page. This page includes guidance on how to formally withdraw, as well as details on the academic and financial implications.
