Denise Evans
Assistant Vice Provost for Extended Learning Initiatives

Denise joined Baylor University in May 2023. Previously, she served as Director of Continuing Education & Language Programs at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Denise holds a BA in Journalism and Political Science from The Pennsylvania State University and an MBA from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville.
Denise’s passion is serving students of all ages and interests and enriching their lives through higher education. Her higher education leadership experience encompasses working with K-12, community college, traditional undergraduate, non-traditional adult undergraduate, and graduate students, in addition to non-credit continuing education students.
Denise’s leadership experience outside higher education includes management roles in for-profit and non-profit corporate organizations. Her business career has included working in the healthcare, software development, cable television, and financial industries. She has woven that experience into her higher education leadership roles to bring entrepreneurial, creative thinking to the development and implementation of higher education initiatives and programs.
Denise believes in the importance of teamwork in developing creative solutions and in establishing and successfully implementing new programs and initiatives. Her collaborative and consultative style has resulted in her ability to forge successful relationships both internal to and external to the higher education institutions that she has served.
